ABOUT US

The Festival

The Windy City Horrorama Film Festival is a weekend-long celebration of the DIY spirit of independent genre filmmaking. We believe the horror crowd is a special and valuable one, dedicated to mutual support, inclusion, and driven by sheer enthusiasm. From the hardworking hands that make the films, to the enthusiastic audiences that come out in droves to see them, Horrorama sets out to honor them all in a weekend of fun and frights at the newly re-opened Davis Theater in Chicago’s gorgeous Lincoln Square neighborhood.

TEAM HORRORAMA

Windy City Horrorama is run by a tiny core team that is consistently blown away by the generosity of time and resources donated to the fest by close friends. When you join Horrorama, even as a guest, you are family (not unlike Olive Garden).

Matt Storc

Matt Storc is a lifelong Chicagoan who found his place in the city within the horror movie community. He has been screening forgotten genre gems throughout Chicago for the last five years. Matt has directed the film Take Back the Knife, an array of short films, the stage show Shriek for Second City, and is currently gearing up for his next film. He has recently discovered about himself that his favorite things in movies are shrunken heads and when little creatures drive cars.

Alex Vazquez

Alex Vazquez has worked in film and event production for nearly a decade in Chicago, Los Angeles, and wherever else the winds carry him. His festival rap sheet includes Slamdance, Palm Springs, Seattle, Provincetown, and Chicago International Film Festival, where he programmed the “After Dark” horror sidebar in 2016 & 2017. His obsessions include his pit bull Omar (Horrorama’s official mascot) and the live-action Speed Racer movie.
